Sleek New Dual-Flush Toilet from Sterling Boasts Progressive Design for Contemporary BathroomsStanton toilet with Dual Force flushing technology helps customers save money and water

KOHLER, Wis. - Feb. 7, 2007 - With an eye toward modern design, Sterling®, a brand of Kohler Co., unveils an attractive dual-flush toilet called Stanton™ at the 2007 International Builders' Show. The gravity-fed Stanton toilet represents Sterling's first toilet with a concealed trapway, adding sleek style to a contemporary environment.

    Stanton Toilet with Dual Force

"A great design wrapped around great technology," said John Brown, associate product manager for Sterling sanitary products. "With its versatile aesthetic, the Stanton toilet will undoubtedly appeal to a wide audience of designers, architects and homeowners who will be delighted by this wonderful combination of design and value from Sterling. It also has our Dual Force flushing technology, which results in significant water savings for those who wish to save water and money."

    Sleek aesthetic enhances bathroom décor
With clean design lines and an overall minimal aesthetic, the new STERLING Stanton toilet has a neutral look to easily match the décor of a broad range of bathroom environments. Almost portraying a seamless, one-piece toilet, the Stanton offers homeowners an easy-to-clean, high-style toilet. The elongated bowl toilet also boasts a clever space-saving profile - it is the same size footprint as a roundfront toilet, making it a terrific option for a small bathroom or powder room without sacrificing comfort.

Dual Force saves water and money
The Dual Force flushing technology by Sterling that provides users with an exceptional combination of water savings and powerful performance to consistently remove light and bulk waste with just one flush. It allows users the option of selecting one of two water levels each time they flush the toilet. Operated by a user-friendly, two-button actuator integrated into the top of the Stanton's tank lid, the user can flush either 1.6 gallons or half that amount - 0.8 gallons. The latter flush option, if used routinely to remove light or liquid waste, could save a household of four up to 6,000 gallons of water per year over standard low-flow models, which routinely flush 1.6 gallons of water.

"Decreasing water consumption lowers water and sewer bills for home and business owners and helps preserve the environment by saving water," said Brown. "Moreover, meeting the requirements to be classified as high-efficiency toilet (HET), the STERLING Stanton toilet may also qualify for select EPA and local water utility rebate programs helping homeowners reap additional financial benefits."

    Performance is not sacrificed
Plug-resistant performance is derived from the toilet's ability to maximize the force of gravity. This is achieved via the Stanton toilet's computer-designed trapway and flapperless valve, which together provide long-lasting operation and reliability. Additionally, the toilet's siphonic washdown system directs 100 percent of the water through the rim to keep the bowl clean. A sanitary guard is another hygenic feature on all of the STERLING Dual Force toilets that is not commonly found on other toilets. This design element actually raises the back edge of the toilet bowl and helps prevent any light waste from collecting under the tank where it connects to the bowl.

The Stanton toilet is available in White, KOHLER® Almond and KOHLER Biscuit and joins the Karsten™ and Rockton™ toilets within the STERLING Dual Force family of dual-flush toilets.
