New Cabinetry Features from Canac Add Convenience, Style and SpaceSingle- and double-flip up doors increase functionality and eliminate obstructions
KOHLER, Wis. - May 8, 2007 - Today's homeowners know that even small changes can lead to big results in terms of performance and efficiency. Recognizing this, Canac - a leading manufacturer of fine semi-custom, full-access cabinetry since 1967 - introduces horizontal flip-up functionality to its line of single- and double-cabinet doors at the 2007 Kitchen/Bath Industry Show in Las Vegas. These new flip-up door styles eliminate obstructions and inconveniences caused by swinging doors.

The flip-up feature is a logical evolution in cabinetry innovation.
Flip-up doors are engineered with a sophisticated, hydraulic assist hinge for easier accessibility and are equipped with an autostop feature, which holds the door in place wherever the user decides. Combining flip-up doors with Canac's urban-themed cabinetry speaks to the trend of creating an appearance of deeper interiors with strong, horizontal lines and lighter, sometimes illuminated, storage spaces. Single and double flip-up ergonomic functionality is available on several Canac door styles including Mission, Mission with glass, Polo Club™ wood and thermofoil, and Cosmopolitan.
Mark Johansen, marketing manager for Canac, says, "The flip-up feature is a logical evolution in cabinetry innovation. It adds convenience, efficiency, and imparts a new, stylish aesthetic for a sense of increased depth. As the homeowner ages, this universal design element becomes especially important as it provides greater mobility while working throughout the home."
Additionally, Canac is offering 18 new decorative hardware upgrades - from wreathed, round knobs to smooth, elliptical hood handles - to complement a variety of cabinetry styles. These affordable and decorative finishing touches are offered in Chrome, Burnished Brass, Copper, Natural Iron, Faux Iron, Brass Antique Iron, Oil-Rubbed Bronze, Brushed Nickel and Stainless Steel. They enable homeowners to match finishes to existing lighting fixtures, faucets, and other home hardware.
