Artist Andy Fleishman Creates New Concrete Flooring Patterns for Ann Sacks
PORTLAND, Ore. (May 8, 2007) - Andy Fleishman for ANN SACKS concrete flooring is highly artistic and brings unique character to any installation. The multiple designs, available in square and hexagon shaped tile, are intended to be installed as sets and the application of the grout creates intricate patterns throughout the floor.

New Concrete Flooring Patterns
The latest introduction to the ANN SACKS collection of Andy Fleishman concrete flooring includes Reptile, a pattern inspired by an Illusionist sculpture created by the artist to look like alligator hide shoes.
Other additions to the Andy Fleishman for ANN SACKS collection include Variations and Traditional. Variations represents a set of four tiles that can be installed together in practically limitless ways to form a constantly changing pattern. "There are 65,536 ways that the four corners of these tiles can come together to form continuous patterns," says artist Andy Fleishman. "If you are living with these tiles, the floor will always have new surprises to offer."
After using square tiles in such radical ways, Fleishman says he "went back to basics" with the development of the new Traditional design which incorporates Gothic and Middle Eastern influences.
"Andy Fleishman is an artist in the truest sense and those roots are clearly expressed in his concrete tiles," says John Hart, chief merchandising officer - ANN SACKS & Kallista.
In addition to bringing a unique artistic component to any installation, Andy Fleishman concrete tiles also bring the benefit of enhanced energy efficiency. Concrete flooring absorbs heat from the sun during the day and slowly releases it at night. The tiles, comprised of a simple mix of sand, gravel and cement with no chemical additives, are also energy efficient in their production. Requiring no kiln firing, the mixture is simply poured into a mold that air cures.
