    A market winner since its launch last year, the gravity-fed Cadet 3 flushing system has an oversized chemical-resistant flapper and generous three-inch flush valve, allowing more water to enter the bowl faster for greater flushing power. The new Cadet 3 Compact toilet has a 2 1/8-inch fully glazed trapway that eliminates choke points, reducing water turbulence. The result is a quiet, but powerful flush every time, capable of flushing 150 feet of toilet paper with just 1.6 gallons per flush (gpf).

A sloping bowl backsplash virtually eliminates liquids from collecting between the tank and bowl. "No one can resist the idea of spending less time cleaning toilets," Walsh said.

    Not to mention less time spent on installation--30 percent less time on average--using the Cadet 3 Speed Connect™ kit with factory-installed bolts and grommets and one-piece nut/washer assembly. American Standard even includes a convenient tool as part of the package. Cadet 3's four contact points deliver tank-to-bowl stability that eliminates rocking.

    American Standard provides a five-year warranty on Cadet 3's tank and trim, including the flapper. Compared to the new Champion® 4 flushing system with an unprecedented four-inch flush valve, Walsh noted that Cadet 3 is a more moderately priced high-performance toilet. American Standard backs Champion 4 with a premium 10-year warranty on the tank and trim.

    The new Cadet 3 One-piece Compact is available in White, Bone, Silver, Linen and Black, with suggested list prices starting at $469 in White. The Cadet 3 Two-piece Compact has a suggested list price starting at $270 in White.
