Porcher's Fifth and 57th Line of Luxury Bath Furniture Brings Upscale Elegance to Your Corner of the World

LAS VEGAS, KITCHEN/BATH INDUSTRY SHOW (May 8, 2007) -- New York City's Fifth Avenue, famed for the world's most exquisite shopping, is the inspiration for a new collection of elegant bathroom furniture from Porcher.

Consisting of a vanity, cosmetic table, apothecary cabinet, storage cabinet, wall-hung mirror and tub surround, the Fifth and 57th collection features art deco styling with elegant, clean lines, rich wood tones and sculptural hardware. "We brought together a mix of materials--rich wood finishes, natural stone, and sculpted hardware--to create our vision of the furniture you'd expect to find in a multi-million-dollar metropolitan penthouse," said Tim Maicher, luxury brand director for Porcher. "The line reflects strong architectural details and Porcher's quality workmanship."

Luxury Bath Furniture and Upscale Elegance

Evocative of the art deco period, the structural framing, doors and drawer fronts appear as a picture frame with darkened, coffee-stained wood framing lighter wood inserts. The two-tone finish, called Meridian, makes a strong statement, as it denotes a perfect blend of two finishes that transition from light to dark, just as day passes into night.

"The dual tones create a striking wood form that is all about the details," said Maicher, adding that the line provides function as well as elegance. "No one designer is doing anything comparable to this level of detail in the market today."

The hardware on each piece looks like jewelry fashioned expressly for this furniture. Each element is sculpted and highly polished, adding a distinctive decorative accent that is also practical. These adornments are used on the corners and the feet of the furniture to protect areas that would otherwise be prone to regular wear and tear.

The vanity, tub surround, storage cabinet consisting of two drawers and three shelves, and the cosmetic table are topped with beautiful and durable Carrera marble. This material also provides an elegant, yet practical touch by eliminating any concerns about scratching the fine wood finish. In addition, doors and drawers have a slow-close feature for an added touch of convenience and elegance.

The cosmetic table provides dual functions. When closed, it looks like a beautiful side table with two side drawers for storage. Open it up to reveal an accessible area to store and apply makeup or to style hair. A fold-up, lighted mirror with two side mirrors provides optimum light and viewing from all angles. An electrical panel makes it easy to plug in accessories without a tangle of unsightly cords. Close up the vanity to conceal everything neatly inside, leaving a clutter-free and elegant tabletop.

"Fifth and 57th is transformative, a glamorous collection that inspires beauty and confidence to step out onto grand avenues or Main Street," Maicher said.

Suggested list prices for Fifth and 57th range from $2,995 to $6,995. For more information on Porcher's designs for the bath, including where to buy, visit www.porcher-us.com or call (866) 455-6118.
