Typar Introduces New Rubberized Asphalt-Based Flashing to its Weather Protection System Typar Flashing RA provides extra protection against water, air and moisture leaks within the building envelope
(OLD HICKORY, Tenn.) May 30, 2007 - Typar® has added a new affordable, self-sealing flashing to the Typar® Weather Protection System with best-in-class performance to help seal cracks and breaks around rough openings within the building envelope. Typar Flashing RA™, an asphalt-based flashing featuring a peelable backing, complies with International Code Council (ICC) regulations and provides a waterproof seal for building fenestrations. This prevents the damaging impact of water penetration and minimizes the energy-robbing impact of air infiltration for vertical and non-roofing horizontal applications.

According to Bob Dahl, marketing director for Typar Construction Products, Flashing RA™ provides a self adhesive waterproof membrane that helps guide water away from windows, doors and wall penetrations and directs moisture to a drainage point in the wall.

"Our integrated system of housewrap and flashing reduces the potential for water to enter wall cavities.
