A one-part, polyurethane sealant, Vulkem 45 SSL was specially developed for sealing joints in level and/or slightly sloped surfaces up to 6% such as sidewalks, swimming pool decks, terraces, parking decks and plazas. It can be applied to fresh concrete that is only 24 hours old and uses the moisture in either damp or "green" concrete to cure. Its unique formulation allows it to resist bubbling as water is released from the concrete, which would hinder adhesion. With freshly poured or "green" concrete, the concrete will shrink as it hardens, causing joints to open up. Vulkem 45 SSL's formulation also allows it to form a quick, robust skin that will not split or "green crack" when the joint begins to open as the sealant cures.

This advanced formulation ensures Vulkem 45 SSL provides the exceptional wear- and tear-resistance required in high traffic areas and allows continuous immersion in non-chlorinated water.
