Ecology Meets Economy in Eco-Friendly EVR PanelsATC Panels Introduces Superior Value for Going "Green"
MONCURE, N.C., July 16, 2007 -- ATC Panels introduces EVR™ Panels, a family of environmentally responsible wood products. Debuting in June, EVR Particleboard, is the first available product in the EVR Panels family. Produced exclusively at the company's Moncure, N.C., facility, EVR Particleboard is an Environmentally Preferable Product (EPP) containing 100 percent recycled and recovered wood waste or fiber generated from wood residue, and complies with the European E-1 standard for low emissions.

ATC Panels Introduces Superior Value for Going Green
"We're proud to introduce the very first product in our new EVR Panels line," said Juan Obach, chairman of ATC Panels. "We're even more pleased to make this new eco-friendly offering available at a cost comparable to our standard particleboard. With the increasing demand for green products, EVR Particleboard paves the way for the future and sets the standard today."
The company plans to certify its new EVR Particleboard with the CPA Certification Program. The CPA recently added the capability to certify formaldehyde emissions and physical properties to mill specifications or mill standards, and can now certify to an "E-1" formaldehyde level.
"The CPA testing will help us to meet customer demands and enable us to compete more effectively in the global marketplace," added Obach.
Additionally, as an Environmentally Preferable Product, and because the raw materials used to produce the new board are recovered within close proximity to the Moncure manufacturing facility, EVR Particleboard may offer architects and specifiers the opportunity to achieve valuable LEED credit points.
EVR Particleboard is available as raw board or can be specified for Thermally Fused Melamine (TFM) panels. Sizes include boards four and five feet wide in lengths of six, eight, nine and 12 feet with thicknesses ranging from 1/2 inch to 1-1/8 inches.
ATC Panels manufactures and sells particleboard, low density fiberboard (LDF), medium density fiberboard (MDF), high density fiberboard (HDF), gesso-coated MDF mouldings and Thermally Fused Melamine (TFM) panels at its five North American manufacturing facilities. The Moncure facility currently produces particleboard and TFM panels and has an annual particleboard production capacity of 150,000 MCF.
