Eye-Catching Driveway Adds to Home's Allure
Winston-Salem, NC - May 17, 2007 - Take a look at your driveway. Chances are, it could use a little improvement. Laura Schwind, a landscape architect for Pine Hall Brick, America's Premier Paver, says that brick pavers are becoming a popular option for reworking existing driveways, especially among homeowners who want to instantly improve their home's curb appeal.

"Everywhere you go, you see oceans of concrete driveways," says Schwind. "But a brick driveway sets your driveway apart from everyone else's with a richer, more distinctive look." Experts say that depending on the condition of the driveway - and your skill as a do-it-yourselfer - you can either cover the driveway yourself with pavers or hire a reputable installer.
Schwind says that brick pavers can bring a lot of different looks to the home landscape. Some installations cover the entire driveway, walkway or patio. Others put in borders of brick to replace deteriorating areas of concrete around expansion joints, or use bricks to set off the entrance to a garage or home. Best of all, brick pavers from Pine Hall Brick now come with new technology, Schwind said.
In the past, homeowners and designers could take their best guess on what a brick driveway, patio or sidewalk would look like. But now, a new product called PaverScape" Visualizing Software, available through Pine Hall Brick distributors, gives an accurate picture of the project before the first paver is laid.
Schwind said it works this way: Take a digital picture of your driveway. Bring your camera and the cable used to connect it to a computer to your nearest Pine Hall Brick distributor, which can be found at www.pinehallbrick.com.
From the PaverScape software, open your own digital photo, define the areas that you want to pave and the software will show you how your completed project will look with Pine Hall Brick pavers. You can choose from any one of 24 styles of paver - and each style can be laid in any one of six patterns.
"With the software, you are limited only by your imagination," said Schwind.
