Everyday Getaways with Distinctive Floors from Armstrong are featured in Top Consumer Magazines and National TV
July 31, 2007--Five "everyday getaways" designed by editors from Kitchen and Bath Ideas®, Better Homes & Gardens®, Country Home®, Midwest Living® and Traditional Home® are intended to show consumers how to make every home a place to regroup and find shelter, both physically and mentally.
The Meredith Corporation and five of its major consumer publications, with help from flooring manufacturers Armstrong and Bruce®, give home enthusiasts a comprehensive look into trends, tips and information by showcasing unique "everyday getaways."

Traditional Home Natural Inspirations
The series of "home escape" vignettes that debuted as part of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) 2007 Design Idea Center at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show this past May in Las Vegas, has attracted media coverage that has generated more than 51.4 million impressions to date.
Feature articles on each of the settings will be published in the following magazines:

In addition to editorial coverage, the concepts are featured in a half-hour syndicated television special, "Destination Home: Cool Kitchens & Baths," produced by Better.tv, Meredith's first broadband television network. The show airs nationwide this summer, already appearing on nearly 200 stations across the country, as well as on www.Better.tv, which offers viewers original video content and programming based on the assets from Meredith's extensive portfolio of magazines, television stations, books, websites and live events.
NKBA Design Idea Center 2007: Meredith Corporation's Destination Home: Everyday Getaways
*Better Homes and Gardens A Gardener's Kitchen: A garden right outside the house is the ultimate everyday getaway. Garden amenities include a back deck with potting table nook, kitchen library and coffee bar, and multiple sinks. Featured Flooring: Bruce® Hardwood Floors, Liberty Plains, maple, in Cappuccino. Better Homes and Gardens has a circulation 7.6 million and a readership of 40 million.
*Traditional Home Natural Inspirations(photo attached) : This beach-style kitchen retreat is designed for entertaining family or friends. "A sense of handcrafted quality that takes cues from the outdoors is gaining popularity, reflected in this space in the basic element of the flooring, a pewter stained maple that resembles the ocean's calm surface at twilight." Featured Flooring: Armstrong Hardwood Flooring, Sugar Creek™ Solid Maple Plank in Pewter. Traditional Home has a circulation of 950,000 and is published eight times a year.
*Midwest Living Back to Basics: A converted barn retreat is a simple back-to-nature space. The rustic 557 square foot building houses a kitchen and bath and opens itself to the rejuvenating powers of the outdoors. "People are embracing nature's power to invigorate us," says Senior Home Editor Carol Schalla. "All the surfaces throughout this space are very organic - from natural cherry cabinetry and stone walls to native maple and hickory floors." Featured Flooring: Bruce® Hardwood Floors, American Originals™ Maple in Santa Fe. Midwest Living magazine reaches 4.1 million readers and is published bi-monthly.
*Country Home Big Little House in the Woods: This two-room cottage provides homeowners inspiration for creating a downsized, cozy getaway that lives large with big design ideas and creative space solutions. "We tried to express a square throughout," says Meredith Ladik, senior building/design editor. This flooring in broad strips is another geometric touch with a modern feel." Country Home has over 7.5 million readers and is published 10 times per year.
*Kitchen and Bath Ideas Gourmet Traveler at Home: Designed for the couple who enjoys travel and culinary adventures around the world, this 770 square foot space is zoned for performance cooking, efficiency and enjoyment. A wine-tasting room, complete with refrigeration, wine storage and a counter-height table with stool, extends the entertaining aspect introduced in the kitchen. Featured flooring: Armstrong® Hardwood Flooring, Century Farm™ Collection, Walnut hand-sculpted flooring in Allspice. Kitchen and Bath Ideas is published 6 times a year and is part of the Meredith Special Interest Media group which publishes approximately 200 issues a year in the areas of building & remodeling, decorating, crafting, gardening, and food & health.
