Linear Demonstrates New Profit Possibilities to CEDIA Attendees with DMC-10 Intercom Kit

DENVER (September 6, 2007) - At CEDIA Expo 2007 this week, Linear LLC will be demonstrating how CEDIA installer members can expand their product offering with Linear's newest structured wiring intercom system, the M&S DMC-10. Linear will be showing the DMC-10 along with other built-in home electronics and control products in CEDIA Expo booth 708.

The DMC-10 Intercom System is the perfect addition to any custom home electronics installer's product offering. The DMC-10 can provide intercom and music for up to 16 different locations, and it's both elegant in design and easy to install. The DMC-10 has a sleek design, accentuated with detachable faceplates available for all stations in a variety of colors for easy customization. The LED controls glow a soothing blue when in use, and the door and patio stations are illuminated with white lighting for easy nighttime use. The room, patio, and door stations all mount on 2-gang junction boxes for easy installation.

The heart of the system is the DMC-10H hub that mounts in a structured wire enclosure. The hub allows for the interconnection of up to eight devices that can be located up to 500 feet away. Standard Cat-5 cable is used for the interconnection. A second hub system can easily be added giving the DMC-10 system a capacity of up to 16 stations. All the stations and the system use Type 110 punch-down terminals for fast and reliable connections. A 12-volt switching power supply is included with each hub.

To support music throughout the home, the DMC-10AWP Audio Input Wall Plate lets you connect a local audio source to the wall plate to play monaural music through the system speakers. The system can accept any independent music source, including an iPOD or MP3 player. The music is interrupted when the intercom is being used. Each wall station also features a do-not-disturb feature and a hands-free feature.

The DMC-10 Intercom Kit includes all of the necessary components for a basic intercom system: the DMC-10H Intercom System Hub and power supply, a total of four DMC-10RS Intercom Room Stations (which can be installed in any room in the house), and a DMC-10DS Intercom Door Station (for use at the front entrance). Intercom Patio Stations and additional Intercom Room Stations may be purchased separately for system expansion.
