CertainTeed Gyptone Line 4 Designer Ceiling Panels Installed in New Stadium
September 11, 2007 - (Valley Forge, Pennsylvania) - Scheduled to open later this month, the University of Central Florida's (UCF) new Bright House Networks™ Stadium in Orlando, Florida, will feature CertainTeed174;Gyptone Line 4™ Designer Ceiling Panels in its hospitality suites, press area and stadium club. Kenpat USA, LLC, an international ceiling and drywall contractor with offices in Orlando, recommended the Gyptone Line 4 ceiling panels for the stadium because it matched the look and quality level UCF administration was aiming for. Kenpat USA and construction manager Wharton-Smith, Inc., also of Orlando, agreed on the product and took it directly to the UCF construction team.

Gyptone Line 4 Ceiling Panels
"With the fact that these are high-rent areas of the stadium, we wanted something that would be durable and look very nice, and we came up with Gyptone," says Phil Klote, Vice President of Kenpat USA. "We took the product directly to the owners and they liked the feasibility, the functionality and the high-end look that it creates. The optimum sound control, durability and functionality make Gyptone a great product."
Kenpat USA installed about 20,000 square feet of Gyptone Line 4 panels throughout the stadium in July.
Punched gypsum panels with European-inspired design, Gyptone designer ceiling panels are coated with specially engineered paint and have acoustical tissue backing for optimum sound absorption. They consist of 85 percent post-consumer recycled content and are backed by a 10-year limited warranty. The product is ideal for application in a variety of public buildings, including hotels, offices, restaurants, dining halls, schools and country clubs.
"Gyptone is a great ceiling product for sports venues, especially in hospitality areas," says Cedric Woindrich, Vice President and General Manager of CertainTeed Ceilings. "The panels are durable, convey a look of luxury and also do an excellent job absorbing some of the noise from very enthusiastic fans. CertainTeed is pleased to be a part of this exciting project, and we wish the UCF Knights much success during the upcoming season."
Bright House Networks Stadium follows Orlando's Citrus Bowl as the home of UCF football. Designed by nationwide architectural firm 360 Architecture, the stadium features 45,000 seats with 800 club seats. The stadium is set to open on September 15, when the Knights have their season opener with the University of Texas Longhorns.
