The ubiquitous actress/model/singer has popularized a trend for professionals to branch out in new creative directions. Artisans in the world of home goods are following suit, adding their signature styles to new mediums in which they may not have worked before. The products showcased here revive bygone design eras and are marked with the fingerprints of well-known designers.

BATH JEWELRY

The stylish Water Jewels line includes “CounterWare” items, bathtubs, and other fixtures made from alternative materials including wood, marble, stone, and glass. Industrial designer Matteo Thun created the unique bath line for Vitra without using traditional ceramic, and without concern for a limited color palette. The resulting Water Jewels line is available in colors including turquoise and terra cotta. Vitra. 770.904.6830. www.vitra-usa.com.

DECO INDULGENCE

Soak yourself in luxury in the Art Deco bathtub from THG, wrapped in elegant leather from the 80-year-old Hermes Leather Corp. The tub is one of several in the maker's line to feature applied leather. THG offers more than 35 custom finishes, and its product lines, conceptualized by designer Jamie Drake, feature inlay options as rich as Lalique crystal and ebony. THG. 954.425.8225. www.thgusa.com.

ART HISTORY

Even door and drawer pulls, such as DuVerre's Kuba and Primitive lines, can offer a designer touch. Both offerings have distinctive looks that reflect the combination of modern technology, primitive materials, and ancient techniques used by Irish-born designer Clodagh. Kuba (shown) is offered in polished aluminum and two two-tone finishes, while tubular Primitive comes in three single-tone finishes. Du Verre. 416.593.0182. www.duverre.com.

UPTOWN STYLE

Though each piece is constructed of black cherry wood, Forms & Fixtures designer and president MM Reynolds says the Parker Collection's cut-diamond design has a dramatic light-reflective quality. The five-piece bath furniture line calls to mind the sophistication of New York's Park Avenue. The collection includes a tower, mirror, drawer connector unit, and vanities in two sizes. A-PLUS

An interplay of open and closed spaces inspired Spanish furniture and lighting designer Jorge Pensi to develop the Plusmodo kitchen concept. Architectural elements include showcase-style glass pull-out trays in the base units, sliding doors, and a solid 6-inch countertop. A unique mix of materials includes lacquered sliding doors, elm fronts, and two new front colors: mineral white and aqua blue. Poggenpohl. 973.812.8900. www.poggenpohl-usa.com.

STYLE OASIS

The artisans at Bear Creek Glass channel both fire and water to create the Desert Splash sink. Featuring a warm desert palette, the maker says the sink's curving hand-blown design imitates the water it's designed to hold. Sinks are available in sizes from 15 inches to 19 inches in diameter and 4 inches to 6 inches deep. Bear Creek Glass. 205.324.9339. www.bearcreekglass.com.

DRIVEN BY DESIGN

Designed by Ferrari stylist Pininfarina, the Venus kitchen includes striking visual elements, such as the parallel curves of the countertop and shelf, and close-set LED spotlights that illuminate the area. The available Microtouch finish is a leather-effect microfiber applied to the aluminium doors. Snaidero. 877.762.4337. www.snaidero-usa.com.

DISCREET CUISINE

Created to complement restaurant-grade cooktops, the AT 400 backsplash vent combines industrial design with high style. Perfect for cooking islands, the backsplash unit eliminates vapors and odors at the source and keeps the user's line of sight clear. Quiet and efficient, the AT 400 features three power levels plus an intensive mode. A dishwasher-safe grease filter and drip tray make cleaning easy. Gaggenau. 877.442.4436. www.gaggenau-usa.com.

OVER THE MOON

Trained as a cabinetmaker, Jochen Schmiddem's latest design for Duravit is Blue Moon. The circular tub is 21 inches deep with plenty of space and side recesses for user comfort. The square surround measures 51 inches on each side and is available in freestanding, corner, or back-to-wall configurations. Finish choices include white acrylic or furniture panelling in a range of wood veneers. Duravit. 770.931.3575. www.duravit.com.
