Clopay Introduces Insulated, Three Layer Gallery Collection Door

CINCINNATI (October 4, 2007) - Clopay announces the addition of a new three layer polystyrene insulated model to its Gallery Collection of garage doors. With the introduction of the new three-layer polystyrene insulated model, builders can increase the energy efficiency and sustainability of their homes - two important criteria in green building design - as well as its curb appeal, the manufacturer says.

The Gallery Collection's three-layer "sandwich" construction features a layer of 1 3/8" or 2" thick environmentally safe, CFC-free, expanded polystyrene insulation pressure bonded between two sheets of 24-gauge steel for quiet and durable operation. The result is long-lasting beauty that won't rot, warp, rust, crack or deteriorate in severe climates and exposure, the manufacturer says.

The door is a good choice for homes with attached garages because the high R-Value helps combat energy costs and makes rooms over or adjacent to the garage warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. It has such a significant impact that the Internal Revenue Service has declared it an eligible model for a homeowner energy savings tax credit under the Energy Tax Incentives Act.

Affordability is another benefit. The Gallery Collection is comparably priced to a traditional raised panel model but offers a much more distinctive appearance, particularly on a garage that faces the street.

Its signature look consists of both long and short grooved panels that can be combined with optional insulated square, rectangular and arched windows, with or without decorative grilles, as well as unique wrought iron designs. Decorative handles provide the appearance of an authentic, old-fashioned swing-out door, although it operates like a traditional overhead garage door with an electric opener.

The doors range in size from 6' to 12' high, and up to 20' wide in white, almond, brown and sandtone. They can also be painted.
