Caroma Leads Industry with 29 WaterSense Toilets

October 15 - (Brisbane, Australia) - Caroma, the world leader in water-efficient bathroom products, announced that 29 of its 30+ dual flush toilets for the North American market have been certified for the EPA's new WaterSense label. This label ensures that a toilet uses 20% less water than the currently mandated 1.6 gallon toilets, qualifying as a High Efficiency Toilet (HET), and meets rigorous testing requirements for flushing performance. Caroma has the most WaterSense-approved product as well as the largest HET offering of any brand.

Caroma is known the world over for being the first to commercialize dual flush toilets, nearly 25 years ago. A Caroma dual flush toilet can save a household from 5,000 to 30,000 gallons of water a year, depending on the age of the toilet replaced.

WaterSense is sponsored by the EPA and is designed to protect the water supply by promoting water-efficient products and services. Much like Energy Star has become a symbol for energy efficiency through its labeling program, it is expected WaterSense will encourage water-conservation behaviors and provide assurance to consumers that they are buying an efficient and high-performing product. The testing for WaterSense certification is done by an independent third party.
