New LOCK-DOWN Epoxy-Bonding Primer Increases Topcoat Adhesion by 50 Percent

    Auburndale, FL - Convenience Products, maker of SEAL-KRETE® brand products, introduces new LOCK-DOWN Epoxy Bonding Primer. LOCK-DOWN is a resin-rich, self-cross-linking epoxy bonding primer designed specifically for concrete surfaces. Ultra-fine nanoparticles in LOCK-DOWN penetrate deeply into concrete, binding chalk and providing a clean, sound substrate for paint or decorative topcoats. Using LOCK-DOWN before painting will increase topcoat adhesion by 50%, and significantly reduce the potential for cracking, peeling and chipping.

    "There are so many factors working against your painted concrete surfaces; hydrostatic pressure, hot tires, foot traffic, UV rays, etc. Just look at any painted porch, basement or garage - most are in disrepair due to these factors. LOCK-DOWN gives teeth to your concrete and makes paint stick," says David Haskell, Pro Paint Sales Manager. "The nanotechnology allows penetration deep into the smallest concrete pores so LOCK-DOWN can firmly bond with the surface. It dries to a slightly tacky finish that topcoats can really grip," says Haskell. "It needs to dry for about eight hours, then you can topcoat with any one or two-part water-based floor paint, stain or textured coating. LOCK-DOWN is also great for repairing peeling and chipping paint."
