Bosch 11258VSR Concrete Drill Offers Faster Alternative to Hammer Drills
Mount Prospect, Ill., December 14, 2007 - Users have long turned to two-speed hammer drills as a low-cost alternative to rotary hammers for small-diameter concrete drilling - sacrificing speed, durability and comfort in the process. Thanks to the new 11258VSR Concrete Drill from Bosch Power Tools and Accessories, users no longer have to give up rotary hammer performance in the name of cost.
With a price tag of $159, the Bosch 11258VSR 5/8" SDS-Plus® Concrete Drill costs no more than the standard high price point (HPP) 2-speed hammer drill. When it comes to speed, however, the 11258VSR leaves the hammer drill in the dust. The 11258VSR performs up to 50 percent faster than an HPP 2-speed hammer drill when drilling 3/8" diameter holes into concrete. And it does it with significantly less impact to the user.

Bosch 11258VSR Concrete Drill
Compared to a hammer drill, the solid 11258VSR offers significant reductions in both noise and vibration. Best of all, the 11258VSR does all the work. With 1.4 foot-pounds of impact force and a stout 4.8 amp motor, the drill powers its way through concrete with almost no force from the user.
Bosch's 11258VSR also offers far superior durability in concrete drilling versus a hammer drill. Because of the 11258VSR's burly SDS-Plus chuck and purpose-built hammer mechanism, both the tool and its bits offer significantly greater product life.
Even compared to other small rotary hammers, the 11258VSR delivers best-in-class speed, impact force, power and durability. And it is still more affordable than the competition.
A sensitive variable speed trigger offers an operating range of 1-1,700 RPM and 0-4,400 BPM to give users precise control in almost any situation. Control and versatility are further enhanced by the included 360-degree auxiliary handle with built-in depth gauge and ergonomically designed pistol-style padded grip.
The 11258VSR offers two modes of operation - hammer mode and rotation-only mode. For quick conversion for wood or metal drilling, Bosch offers a convenient snap-in 3-jaw chuck adaptor as an accessory.
The Bosch 11258VSR 5/8" SDS-Plus Concrete Drill comes complete with three SDS bits and an auxiliary handle with built-in depth gauge. The Bosch 11258VSRC includes the keyed 3-jaw chuck adaptor in lieu of the SDS bits. It is covered by a one-year warranty and is now available through authorized Bosch distributors nationwide.
