Performance puts the Trane® XL16c in a class by itself. The Trane Climatuff® compressor delivers two stages of heating and cooling for ultra comfort and cost savings. The variable-speed blower motor with Trane Comfort-R® patented electronics operates at lower, more efficient speeds than conventional motors providing higher efficiency and more humidity control during cooling. The energy-saving Trane Vortica™ technology delivers excellent airflow with exceptionally low sound levels. A state-of-the-art ducted fan operates together with a highly efficient motor to move air with a sophisticated, aerodynamic blade for the quietest performance on the market.
The Trane® XL16c delivers complete peace-of-mind with its comfort features. Stainless steel heat exchangers with a new safe tubular design are built for reliability. Extra-rigid, foil-faced insulation ensures cleaner, long-lasting performance. The contoured, reinforced unit surface resists damage from the elements year round. No details are too small in terms of safeguards that bolster reliability; even the fasteners are Weatherguard® treated for corrosion resistance. Trane provides a limited warranty of 20 years on the heat exchanger, 10 years on the compressor and condenser coil, and five years on functional parts.
Commercial or residential installations are made easy and stress free by the ability to convert to horizontal or vertical applications with easy-to-reach electrical and gas connections on the right side. The Trane® XL16c steel cabinet has a baked-on finish that provides years of protection with safe-to-handle, smooth edges. Factory built 12-inch and 18-inch duct covers allow for extra-clean, horizontal installations. Functional, aesthetically pleasing louvers and corner guards are made from automotive-grade, UV-resistant plastic for safe installation and long lasting durability. Panhead screws on the supply and return panel ensure a flush fit on duct connections. The footprint of the three-ton unit is 38-inches high, 51-inches wide, and 43-inches deep.
Service technicians will find the system controls, stainless steel burners, and the straight-in gas line easy to access on the Trane® XL16c through removable, embossed-label service panels. A single fastener for quick release secures the slide-out Vortica® blower. Rotolock fittings secure the Climatuff® compressor conveniently located in the left corner compartment. The drain pan is self-servicing with an extra-deep, steep slop to promote efficient drainage.
