    New guns are expensive propositions, but old guns are valuable in so many other ways.

    Going to work on one of your guns with a normal screwdriver is like filleting a fish with a pruning saw. A good set of gunsmith screwdrivers is a must, if you want to avoid buggering-up your screw heads.

    Pachmayr makes a nice, 31-piece set for around $20. It includes slotted bits for action screws, hex bits for fitting scopes and Phillips head bits -- including extra-long bits for removing kick pads and butt plates.
