Versatex Delivers New 6/4 Boards with Tightest Core and TolerancesFull Inch-and-a-Quarter Panel Has More Consistency Throughout - for Cutting and Routing Performance Like Fine Lumber
January, 2009 -- Versatex® introduces the new super-thick, low-maintenance PVC 6/4 panel that features fine cell-structure consistency from front to back, eliminating the need to laminate multiple sheets to achieve thicker stock. The panel measures 11/4” thick, and comes in 4’x8’ and 4’x10’ sheets, as well as nominal 10” and 12” boards. Custom widths and lengths are available with extended lead times.
Homebuilders who have adopted PVC trim have come to know Versatex for its finer cell structure. The makeup of the center of the board makes all the difference when contractors are cutting and routing the boards, exposing the center. With competitive products, the cell structure can vary from edge to center, making other PVC trimboards less desirable for use in finish carpentry.

“We have taken cellular PVC to another level by providing the thickest board in the industry with a core that is every bit as tight as our current products,” says John Pace, president. “The result for the builder and mill-shop is that they now have a product that will reduce the need for lamination during fabrications of thicker projects, and allow the clean cuts and workability our customers have come to expect.”
“There has been more and more demand for a thicker product, as contractors find new and creative exterior uses for cellular PVC trims,” says Rick Kapres, vice president sales and marketing. “We now have a product that allows craftsmen to use their imagination, while providing them with a product that cuts and routs like a fine piece of lumber.”
Versatex is manufactured by Wolfpac Technologies near Pittsburgh, PA. The company operates a state-of the-art manufacturing facility, which produces cellular PVC extrusion products such as Versatex® reversible exterior trimboard, mouldings, prefabricated corners, beadboard, and their Stealth trim system.
