DELTA Machinery Introduces Drill Presses Designed for Woodworkers Three Innovative Woodworking Drill Presses Launched at 2006 IWF
ATLANTA (Aug. 24, 2006) - DELTA Machinery introduced three drill presses, specially designed with woodworkers in mind, to deliver unparalleled accuracy and consistency. The new drill presses, models 17-959L, 20-950 and 20-959LX, were introduced during the 2006 International Woodworking Fair (IWF) from Aug. 23 to Aug. 26 at booth 5413 in the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

Three Innovative Woodworking Drill Presses Launched at 2006 IWF
The drill presses have a larger-than-normal woodworker's table to provide the user with a larger work surface with multiple features including t-slots, easy-clamp edges, and forward tilt of 45 degrees, as well as left- and right-tilt of 90 degrees. In addition, all of the tables have a 3 3/4-inch square, removable and replaceable insert made of MDF (medium density fiber core hardwood plywood) that can accommodate larger bits and drums. These are only some of the features of the drill presses that allow users to perform applications previously impossible without auxiliary jigs and fixtures.
DELTA® DRILL PRESS, MODEL 17-959L
The DELTA® laser drill press, model 17-959L, features a woodworker's table measuring 18-inches by 14-inches, a laser pod, a non-tip base and a new 17-inch cast-iron head design. The fully adjustable laser pod uses two lasers to project a bright red crosshair on the work surface, showing exactly where the bit will contact the material. The lasers allow users to quickly and easily align the work piece to the intended drilling spot and drill bit. With improved accuracy and performance, the laser crosshair is ideal for drilling holes in wood, metal or plastic.

The 17- 959L has a 3/4 HP motor, and offers 16 speeds, a quill stroke of 4 7/8-inches and a built-in light. Ideal for woodworking enthusiasts and small professional woodworking firms, the 17-959L will be available for purchase in April 2007 for $549.
DELTA® DRILL PRESS, MODEL 20-950
With a larger woodworker's table, measuring 24-inches by 14-inches, the DELTA® drill press, model 20-950, features mechanical variable-speed and a new industrial design. The mechanical variable-speed enables the user to quickly change the speed of the drill press to the optimum speed for cut performance which also helps improve bit life. The new industrial design includes a non-tip base; a large (20-inch) cast-iron head; a large swing (20-inches) and a large quill stroke capacity (6-inches) to allow the users to perform applications of greater size with ease.
Used to drill holes in wood, metal or plastic; drill mortises; or edge sand by easily attaching sanding drums, the 20-950 is ideal for woodworking enthusiasts and small professional woodworking shops. The 20-950 will be available for purchase in April 2007 for of $749.
DELTA® DRILL PRESS, MODEL 20-959LX The DELTA laser drill press, model 20-959LX, features a woodworker's table measuring 24-inches by 14-inches, digital depth and speed readout, and a laser pod. The digital depth and speed readout enables users to accurately and easily set the depth and speed for repeatable drilling. The 20-959LX offers variable speed with two speed ranges (low range from 150 to 1,100 rpm and high range from 500 to 3,200 rpm) and a quill stroke of 6-inches.
The fully adjustable laser pod uses two lasers to project a bright red crosshair on the work surface, showing exactly where the bit will contact the material. The lasers allow users to quickly and easily align the work piece to the intended drilling spot and drill bit. With improved accuracy and performance, the laser is ideal for drilling holes in wood, metal or plastic, or drilling mortises.
The new industrial-design drill press includes a non-tip base; a large (20-inch) cast-iron head; a large swing (20-inches) and quill stroke capacity (6-inches) to allow the users to perform applications of greater size with ease. Created for the highest level of woodworking enthusiasts and professional woodworkers, the 20-959LX will be available for purchase in May 2007 for $949.
