Waukesha, Wis. (April 12, 2007) - The Spancrete Group, Inc., the leading provider of architectural and structural precast construction solutions, announced the ER Post Structural System, a new precast truss building system. Ideal for multi-use housing and commercial developments, the system provides column-free spans and increased construction flexibility.

Whereas a traditional building system requires support columns and beams on every floor, the ER Post Structural System enables alternate floors to remain column-free. As a result, the wide open spans make it a great system for developments that require parking, residential or commercial space all within a single structure.

"On top of the many advantages of using precast products, the truss system provides rapid, all-weather erection and significant cost savings due to efficient framing and fewer pieces," said John Nagy, president and CEO of The Spancrete Group. Because of the unlimited floor layout possibilities, the new truss system is intended for use in multi-family housing, office and commercial space, university housing and hotels. The system is already being used in two large Midwest developments: Staybridge Suites, a hotel, residential and retail development in downtown Milwaukee; and Whiteco Residential, a residential and retail development in suburban Chicago.
