Anodized cladding captures the interest of architects and homeowners because it is different than painted cladding. To manufacture anodized cladding, aluminum is dipped in an acid bath, which opens up the "pores" in the metal, then dipped in a colored anodized bath. The color actually becomes part of the aluminum and creates a rich metallic tone with a soft matte finish.

Anodized cladding provides a one-of-a-kind look due to subtle differences within the same color palette. The slightly non-uniform style of anodized metal also reflects light differently, changing appearance depending on the time of day.

However, unlike copper, which will oxidize and change over time, anodized color is very stable and will maintain its original hue. Customers also can mix and match anodized finishes with other cladding colors to help offset and highlight the beautiful metallic sheen that anodized cladding delivers.
