New Amana Traditional Series Top Load Laundry Pair Offers Common-Sense Features to Lighten the Load in the Laundry RoomNew Antimicrobial Component Protection Added to Washer

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (Feb. 7, 2007) -- With home cleanliness ranking high on the minds of consumers, Amana 'breaks the mold' with its new Traditional series top load laundry pair, featuring antimicrobial component protection in the rubber seal supplied by Microban™. The agitator and tub ring are designed to resist mold, mildew and odor-causing bacteria.
The Traditional series is part of the Amana fabric care collection, the first new product introduction for Amana under the expanded Whirlpool portfolio, and was made available to consumers for the first time in December 2006.
"For years, consumers have turned to Amana washers and dryers for common-sense solutions to their everyday laundry needs," says Eric Ramso, senior category manager for Amana. "The new Traditional series with antimicrobial component protection demonstrates our pledge to provide consumers with practical-minded products that live up to Amana's enduring legacy."

A Laundry List of Common-Sense Features
Amana's Traditional series washes away laundry worries with sensible features that help consumers lighten the load in the laundry room. In addition to antimicrobial component protection, there is a stain and scratch resistant natural gray porcelain wash basket that makes it easier to locate those hard-to-find white socks. Less time can be spent in the laundry room, thanks to a 3.2 cubic feet capacity that can easily handle more clothes in fewer loads. And the exterior is attractively styled with easy-to-use Soft Grip knobs.
