Pine wood is treated in JELD-WEN's proprietary vacuum-pressure process, which results in virtually 100 percent penetration of protective ingredients from the surface to the core. This provides superior protection for the wood, in contrast to dip-treatment, which only provides surface protection.
Because the protective ingredients permeate the wood, nail and screw holes or trimming and sanding will not compromise AuraLast wood. In addition, JELD-WEN's treatment process is water-based, which reduces harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by 96 percent, compared to solvent-based treatments used by other manufacturers.

The frame can be painted or stained to match any door, and last-minute trimming and machining adjustments can be made quickly and easily at the site, if needed.
