(EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ) United States, March, 2007 - Railing Dynamics, Inc. introduces the newly, reengineered Endurance® Porch Post. Now homeowners have the option of selecting either a porch post with the "Standard Base Kit" or the newly engineered "Wind Uplift Base Kit". The exterior PVC component of the post will retain the same classic design, with both post systems available in 4" and 5" sizes, all 3 colors (White, Earth, Sand), and with all 3 load bearing options (2500, 5000, and 8500 lbs).
The company's focus has always been to continually improve the integrity of its product designs as its customers' needs change, and RDI's reengineered Endurance Post System is no exception. According to Chris Schneider, RDI Senior Engineer, "We wanted to provide our customers the added security of a system even more resistant to unpredictable environmental factors. This new (Porch Post) design gives added strength to the system by preventing wind uplift, thereby preventing roof destruction should the 'unthinkable' occur when installed within design specifications." The Wind Uplift Base Kit provides a continuous connection between the roof and deck or porch surface providing the system the capacity to withstand 3.5 times the wind uplift of the previous design.
Also new, a specially designed PVC gasket has been added to both the Standard Base Kit and Wind Uplift Kit, which prevents corrosion of the base plate when used in conjunction with lumber treated with ACQ preservatives. According to Schneider, "The gasket prevents conduction of the electrical charge between the ACQ copper and the aluminum structural core of the Endurance Porch Posts, thereby inhibiting corrosion of the aluminum."
