INDIANA, PA, March 27, 2006--Gorell Enterprises, Inc., was recently honored with the prestigious "Sustained Excellence" Award by the U.S. Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency for its record of manufacturing highly energy-efficient windows as well as the company's work in promoting the ENERGY STAR program. A partner in the ENERGY STAR program since 1999, Gorell was selected as ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year in 2004 and 2005. The "Sustained Excellence" Award is given to a select group of organizations that have exhibited outstanding leadership year after year. Other Sustained Excellence winners this year--in other categories--are GE Consumer Products, Whirlpool Corp., Maytag Corp. and Sears. Gorell and other winners received the awards in Washington, D.C. last week.

"To be named ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for the third consecutive year--and to receive the prestigious Sustained Excellence Award--is a tremendous honor," said Mike Rempel, Gorell's President and COO. "Our employees continuously strive to produce not only the best, most innovative windows and doors in the industry--but the most energy-efficient products available. We also place great emphasis on educational and training materials to ensure that our employees, dealers and consumers have a clear understanding of the ENERGY STAR program and the benefits that energy-efficient products provide."

Because of the thermally efficient design and construction of Gorell products, nearly all Gorell products qualified for the ENERGY STAR label in 2005. Gorell manufactures several lines of energy-efficient windows and offers six high-performance Low-E glass systems that feature double- or triple-insulating glass, low-emissivity coatings and inert gas fill between the panes. All Gorell vinyl windows or doors that incorporate one of the company's optional Low-E glass systems qualify for the ENERGY STAR label.

"Partners like Gorell are national leaders in energy efficiency," said Kathleen Hogan, Director of EPA's Climate Protection Partnerships Division. "ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence winners are true models for improving energy efficiency across the country. Gorell has shown year after year that energy efficiency is good for business and helps consumers save important resources, all while protecting the environment."

Gorell manufactures vinyl windows for replacement and new-construction applications, patio doors, and aluminum storm windows and doors. In addition, Gorell recently introduced a full line of deluxe patio rooms offered by its Grand Additions subsidiary. The company markets its products through a network of specialty dealers and distributors. Recognized as one of the most innovative and fastest growing manufacturers of windows and doors in North America, Gorell is consistently recognized for its high product quality and excellent customer service.
