Lagotek Home Intelligence Platform Adds Security Application

BELLEVUE, WA, February 7, 2007... Lagotek announces availability of a new security application,. This is the first application written for the recently released version 3.0 of the Home Intelligence Platform (HIP) of Lagotek Wireless Home Automation System.

HIP 100 Control Panel

"We are glad that we can offer this functionality in our product. Secure living is among the top concerns of our customers and adding security control to the camera monitoring makes your home a safer place to live," points out Eugene Luskin, CEO of Lagotek.

Functionality
The security application supports General Electric NX-8E security panels and delivers complete user-level control to any HIP100 Lagotek Control Panel. The system can be configured to use up to 16 security zones. For the whole home the user can execute the following commands: Arm, Arm Stay, Disarm, Reset Siren, Police panic, Fire panic and Medic Panic. For each zone the user can execute Bypass and un-bypass. Users can easily check the current status for each zone and view the latest security events on the control panel.

Secure solution
To provide the highest level of secure communication the system utilizes a rolling code algorithm with AES encryption that was added to the encrypted WiFi used for the whole home control.

Benefits of integrating security system with whole home control
Lagotek provides users with a simple interface that is much more intuitive than traditional security keypads. Users can now access their security system from any Lagotek control panel or PDA or computer with installed Home Intelligence Platform. The security system is fully integrated with the rest of Home Control from Lagotek. Using Rules Application, the security system generates events that can invoke user-defined Modes. For example if the door to the backyard is configured in the security system as a zone, Lagotek system can help set the rule that will turn the lights on the deck when the backyard door is open and it's dark.

Current software applications for the HIP platform from Lagotek include:

HIP 100 Control Panel: Simplicity Rather than Complexity
Lagotek HIP100 panels run WiFi and Z-Wave. Z-Wave™ is a low-cost, two-way, mesh network communications technology that enables everyday devices to be controlled and monitored wirelessly and securely from anywhere in the world. Z-Wave is a fully developed, proven, affordable, easy-to-use and interoperable technology that is available in more than 150 wireless home control and automation products today.

Lagotek HIP100 control panels are elegant, but unobtrusive, easily blending with interior decor when not in use. Due to the wireless nature of the product, there is no need to run new wires since the panels fit into a standard 2-gang electrical box replacing the "20th Century" dimmers and switches.
