MOSINEE, Wis., June 27, 2007 - Visions® Windows & Doors announced today that its Visions 3000 premium vinyl windows and patio doors have achieved third-party certification for recycled material content by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), a leading provider of certification, auditing and testing services and standards. This certification confirms that Visions 3000 products actually meet their stated recycled material content.

An independent certifier of environmental, sustainability, food quality and food purity claims, SCS has developed internationally recognized standards and certification programs aimed at spurring the highest level of environmental improvements, social accountability and product performance. Its programs span a wide cross-section of the economy, recognizing accomplishments in the fields of forestry, green building, agricultural production, food processing and handling, fisheries, energy, product manufacturing and retail. The company is the first to offer manufacturers a program for verifying the accuracy of environmental claims on products.

Certified for its 12 percent recycled material content, Visions 3000 is also manufactured to the specifications of the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), which endorses high performance standards in the fenestration industry.
Also energy efficient, Visions 3000 features 3-1/4" thick, multi-chambered vinyl frames, which help reduce the amount of seasonal expansion and contraction in the units. The frames and sash corners are fusion-welded and have steel stiffeners, which result in increased strength and improved resistance to air and water filtration. The products' real warm-edge spacers minimize heat transfer/loss through the windows and the possibility of condensation on the glass. Visions 3000 offers casements and awnings, double hung tilts, single and double sliders, direct-set and circle tops, and custom shapes and sizes.
