Recent research from the Energy Information Administration suggests that in the continental U.S., homeowners in New England and the mid-Atlantic regions may be more likely to have the scariest utility bills this year. On average, homeowners in New England pay an average of 16.7 cents per kilowatt-hour (kwh) for electricity, while homeowners in the mid-Atlantic pay an average of 13.48 cents per kwh. The average price for electricity throughout the country is 10.65 cents per kwh.
