NEW LONDON, N. C. - Oct. 16, 2007 - Fiber Composites, LLC, a leader in the composite decking industry, is setting a new standard in cellular PVC decking with the introduction of fiberon Sanctuary™ featuring a super tough Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate finish that has proven itself for years in the automotive industry.
Unlike first and second generation cellular PVC decking, fiberon Sanctuary delivers excellent color retention and durability, even in darker colors. The finish is a remarkable synthetic compound that has long been used in the automotive industry to withstand weathering and to enhance color retention on the exterior finish of cars and trucks. The tough finish provides superior resistance to mold, mildew and stains. Fiber Composites backs its new cellular PVC product with a 20-year limited warranty.

Cellular PVC Decking
"No other cellular PVC decking product delivers better color retention or resistance to stains. The color you choose today will be essentially the same color many years from now," said Bill Ross, vice president of sales for Fiber Composites, LLC. "This technology clearly makes fiberon Sanctuary the premier cellular PVC product in the marketplace."
Fiber Composites' new cellular PVC decking product, which will be available in December, represents a logical evolution for a company committed to technological innovations and quality manufacturing. "We were one of the first to manufacture vinyl-wood products in the late 1990s. Fifty percent of our platform has been PVC-based since the company began," explained Doug Mancosh, president of Fiber Composites, LLC. "We easily have five times more experience with these materials than other PVC board manufacturers."
The surface finish of fiberon Sanctuary can be likened to high-end interior flooring with its warm, inviting colors, authentic graining and strong protective finish. "Unlike previous generations of cellular PVC products, fiberon Sanctuary is neither plain nor synthetic in appearance," said Ross, explaining that a photo-engraved embossing was taken from real mahogany decking to provide an amazingly realistic look. "Sanctuary will be available in both solid colors and multi-chromatic color boards that really look like wood. These boards are going to fool people with their realism."
In addition to natural beauty and industry-leading durability, fiberon Sanctuary is lightweight. In fact, the product is 37 percent lighter than the leading composite decking brand. A 20-foot Sanctuary board, for example, can easily be carried by one person because it weighs about 32 pounds versus the typical 54 pounds.
Simple, quick installation is another 'plus' thanks to Sanctuary boards being extruded with a side groove. This groove accepts the Phantom Fastener hidden fastening system that installs faster than face screwing because it requires 50 percent fewer fasteners. The Phantom Fastener system is even self-gapping to provide a perfect gap to go with the perfect deck.
