December 2007 - The idea for IRBINE™ tool grips was born on a remodel job in the heat of the summer. Owner and founder of IRBINE™, David Irby, recalls having to work in the 100 degree weather with exposed tools. "Any tool left in the sun for five minutes or more became virtually unusable. The metal in the wrecking bars and the nail guns (which had worn out their original grip) were absorbing the heat instantly, and making life miserable."
Irby combined his 15 years of experience as a carpenter with his innovative entrepreneurial spirit to create IRBINE™ tool grips. After his frustrating day in the blazing sun, Irby went home and sewed together pieces of neoprene with fishing string to cover his nail gun and wrecking tools. The next day he saw the difference his grips could make on jobsites across the country.

"My tool grips have been a vast improvement to every tool I have used them on," said Irby. "I am really excited about what we are offering here, it wasn't as easy to get to this point as you would think," Irby laughed. "I have had to learn a few things the hard way."
Irby has learned though, and he is ready to take things to the next level. "We are attacking this like we would any construction job. What we are about to offer should make carpentry much more comfortable."
