Carson City, NV (Feb 17, 2008) - Until recently, when interior designers, architects and clients viewed their options for a new range hood, choices were limited to metal and wood. Though European style cast stone hoods have captured the imagination of the American public, they could not easily be exhibited in today's high end kitchen and bath showroom. The excessive weight and onsite assembly required weeks of contractor work, making the cost of a cast cement hood cost prohibitive to both store and home owner alike. Without the showroom presence of cast stone kitchen hoods, design professionals and their clients were forced to compromise their artistic preference.

Euro Cast Design, Inc., introduces a line of ultra-light pre-cast kitchen hoods made from crushed travertine. These hoods are designed for 36" to 60" ranges. Installed in less than an hour, they can be hung like a kitchen wall cabinet. In addition, they will accommodate most vent blowers. The 5" high border with 3/8" inset can be detailed with mosaics or architrave and the non-porous surface can be faux finished and/or stained. The public may very well see these hoods as a "do-it-yourself" project.
At last, design professionals can demonstrate their vision with the assistance of the local showroom gallery. On April 10 to 13, at the 2008 KBIS show in Chicago, Illinois, Euro Cast Design will have these ultra-light travertine hoods exhibited in the "New Product Pavilion" as well as their exhibitors booth number S3355 in the South Hall.
