ATLANTA – (March 14, 2008) – Sto Corp., the innovative world leader in cladding, coating, and restoration systems, is proud to announce the introduction of StoSet 9000 Waste Solidifier. This dry powder product is used to solidify liquid waste materials in the original bucket, allowing for environmentally-friendly disposal.
Approximately one quart (1.3 pounds) of StoSet 9000 will solidify a five-gallon pail of Sto Corp. product within seconds. StoSet 9000 Waste Solidifier offers an environmentally safe way to dispose of acrylic and latex based textured finishes, paints, and coatings, such as those used in the EIFS and stucco industries.
"Most landfills do not accept these types of products in a liquid form," said Jeff Turner, Sto product manager. "You can potentially save yourself time and money by simply adding StoSet 9000 to liquid products to safely dispose of waste material. It is great for quickly containing job site paint spills."
StoSet 9000 is used for:
• Disposal of acrylic and latex based textured finishes, paints, and coatings.
• Disposal of any water-based product that otherwise is safe for disposal in a landfill, but for the fact that it is liquid.
Sto Corp. manufacturing facilities use the StoSet 9000 Waste Solidifier to solidify liquid product wastes and have found this material easier, safer, and more cost-effective over the traditional method of solidifying with cement. Additional benefits that have been realized include less dust and faster solidification for disposal.
"Since only one quart of material is required to solidify the liquid waste," said Turner, "the solidification can be done using the existing pail." Turner went on to point out that, in the past, using cement (as a solidifier) required material to be poured into additional pails to have space for the amount of cement needed to solidify. This saves on materials and is much easier to use.
