Franke Announces Tempered Glass Sinks, Altrium Range Hoods

March 17, 2008 — Kitchens, like the people who use them, can greatly improve their appearance by tapping into some secrets f or building a great wardrobe. Acc ording to Franke, the kitchen systems expert, the important first step is to put a strong statement at the heart of the kitchen that can be "access orized" with pieces that echo its col ors, textures and style. Their newest series, Franke Glass Sinks, set to debut at KBIS 2008, make that point.

They create a fashion statement by combining tempered glass in tones of either sea foam or black with the highest quality stainless steel to achieve dramatic accents and highly functional work surfaces.

One excellent way to build on the sink's black glass wardrobe theme is to pair it with the new AtriumRange Hood. Its curved black tempered glass (it also comes in a clear glass version) canopy layered on a stainless steel control panel carries out the statement made by the sink and lends the whole kitchen the carefully pulled together look of a well chosen ensemble.

Like any successful wardrobe, the Franke components are as smart and well made as they are attractive. The two materials paired in the new Franke Glass Sinks bring together a unique combination of high style with the kitchen-friendly virtues of being hygienic, easy to clean and resistant to odors. To accommodate its use as an extended work surface, Franke's engineers and designers have given the glass a slightly textured finish to prevent slipping and have set the glass to slope gently toward the bowl. To ensure that they are as practical as they are beautiful, Franke's new Glass Sinks will be available in either color and in a variety of configurations such as single bowl style with extended drain board, side-by side placements of smaller and larger sinks with extended drain board, or two larger sinks framed with glass on all four sides. Each can be accommodated in a minimum cabinet size of 33-inches.

Like any beautifully-tail ored garment, the new Atrium Range Hood is as elegant when viewed head on as from beneath, with edges that are welded and polished, revealing not a single exposed screw. It has 8/2 Electronic Control, Telescopic chimney (reversible f or recirculating application) and Franke's EZ Cube mounting system with a post-installation leveling feature. Like all Franke Range Hoods, its price includes both the 600CFM, mot or and the company's proprietary RecirKit Ductless Conversion Kit f or easy conversion from ducted to recirculating operation. Franke Range Hoods also feature: Halogen Lighting, Simple Installation, 7 function Electronic Controls (with available wireless remote control) and Filter Clean/Change Reminder.
