  • Drainable Housewrap
  • Source: ebuild 7/7/2009
  • Filaments on the Hydrofilament Drainable Housewrap create a 1-millimeter gap, providing pathways for trapped moisture to escape and helping exterior walls dry more quickly. According to the firm, the wrap's performance characteristics do not diminish over time and after exposure to wet conditions. The weather-resistive barrier resists moisture and air infiltration, and its breathable structure allows interior moisture vapor to pass through. It comes in 100-foot rolls. 800-346-7655. More
  • StormWrap Fiber-reinforced Housewrap
  • Source: BUILDING PRODUCTS Magazine 5/12/2008
  • TyparStormWrap Fiber-reinforced Housewrap is designed for high wind and extreme weather areas and meets Miami-Dade and Florida Building Code standards. It provides water holdout and tear strength to stop penetration from windborne objects, high wind pressure cycles, and wind-loading. In areas where codes require cinder block construction, StormWrap can be used in conjunction with steel framing instead, according to the manufacturer. More

  • Typar Addresses High Performance Building with Weather Protection System Exhibit at 2009 International Builders' Show
  • Source: 2/23/2009
  • The complete Typar Weather Protection System will be on display in the Typar weather protection booth (N1752) during this year's International Builders' Show. The display will include Typar HouseWrap; MetroWrap for commercial applications; StormWrap, an impact-resistant housewrap for extreme weather areas; and Typar RoofWrap, a highperforming roofing underlayment, as well as a variety of flashing options and construction tape. Collectively, the system acts as a barrier for wind-driven rain, bulk water and air that may penetrate exterior cladding. When moisture infiltrates the exterior finish, Typar weather-resistant barriers work in conjunction with integrated flashing to guide water back to the exterior. This reduces the risk of water intrusion that can lead to the growth of mold and mildew, which degrade indoor air quality. More
