Features and Benefits

  • Factory-primed TechTrim features a natural-looking, textured wood grain on one side, and a smooth surface on the other—making it the most versatile trim board on the market today. Just choose the look you like best!
  • TechTrim is available in both standard trim-board and a brick-mould pattern. The brick mould can be used around exterior entry doors. Both patterns come in standard pre-cut sizes.
  • Like wood, TechTrim is easy to handle and install, and it doesn’t require any special tools. It can be cut, trimmed, shaped, nailed, screwed, stapled, and sanded. It can be ripped to width or cross-cut to length with a router, a molder, or a rip, band, or crosscut saw. And TechTrim holds nails even better than wood—because it never rots, nail holes stay intact.
  • You can repair TechTrim just as you would any other trim board. Surface scratches can be repaired with light sanding and paint. Deep dents and scratches may require filling with exterior, paintable caulk or sealant.
  • TechTrim is easy to nail, and there’s no limit to the distance required for face-nailing from its edge. Pre-drilling is not required for edge-nailing. While TechTrim is not structural and is intended only for exterior trim applications, it can be nailed directly to structural members.
  • On TechTrim, you’ll never find any surface checks, end splits, or raised grain. And TechTrim is available in a range of standard, pre-cut sizes. It will expand or contract only minimally.
  • Because it’s factory-primed on all four sides, TechTrim requires only one coat of paint. Wood and other engineered trim products require two coats. Just paint your TechTrim with one latex topcoat, and you’re ready to go.
